Rare Kaiser Idell 6650 desk lamp

The Kaiser & Co. Leuchten KG company was founded in 1895 by Christian Dell, a silversmith and industrial designer, who headed the metalwork department at the Weimar Bauhaus for several years. He designed a large range of lights (more than 500 models) with the idea to create interchangeable and strandardized parts of lamps. The Idell lamps (combination of ‘Dell’ and ‘Idea’) are viewed to this day as a design classic — a timeless ideal with a simple and clean avant-garde design, noble materials and an essential functionality.

Its original condition is good. The lamp has a few signs of wear consistent with its age and use.
The mechanical system of the lamp functions perfectly.
The shade can be smoothly moved horizontally and vertically thanks to a ball joints.
The electrical equipment was renewed and refurbished with a three-wire system and a black cloth coated cord was used.
The light is operated by a switch located on the basement.
